We had a very enjoyable break at Wavecrest. The house was warm, very comfortable and the views superb. We were fortunate with the weather for October, with two comepletely dry days and all others sunny with showers. The house is very well situated in order to enjoy walks along the coast and over the Quiraing as well as runs to Portree and Dunvegan. Our favourite place to eat and relax was the Stein Inn on the Waternish peninsula. We hope to visit Wavecrest again in the future

We had a lovely week at Wavecrest in October. Weather wasn't all it could have been but Skye was still spectacular. We enjoyed the short walk down to the bay as did our dog,Willow, where we walked along the shore collecting shells while Willow played in the sea. The views from the cottage are magnificent and the night sky (yes there were a couple of very clear nights) was awesome. It was wonderful to stand just outside the front door and look up at the stars, so clear and bright.
We travelled all round the north of the island and especially enjoyed our visit to the Museum of Island Life at Kilmuir.

Staffin was an ideal place to stay where everyone we met, especially the neighbour, was very friendly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wavecrest. The cottage was so clean and smart and extremely well-equipped. We especially liked the binoculars - they had a lot of use. The views from Wavecrest are beautiful and we often sat in the lounge looking at the sea. Wavecrest is the ideal holiday home!

Great cottage, very well equipped, clean and home from home - and we had fantastic weather. Wherever you look from the cottage there are stunning views, whether to the sea from the living room or to the Trotternish from the kitchen. Great walking, climbing, fossil hunting are just a stroll away - but do visit the little Staffin museum to see dinosaur footprints and huge ammonites. And if you want to see a sky full of stars, amazing sunsets and sunrises, then this is the place for you. The meteor shower from the Pleides was so clear and better than any firework display. Our sons saw basking sharks and sea eagles at the tip of the island. For something a little different why not try sea-kayaking at Uig, a great way of spending a couple of hours - even for an old beginner like me! Wish we could have stayed longer than a week, but we'll be back.

Great accommodation - in a super location and very clean and well-equipped. Managed to see the sea eagles from the Kilt Rock waterfall and enjoyed some great walks.
It was lovely to return to Wavecrest every evening and have tea watching the sun set across the sea and the lighthouse begin to flash. The starry skies were out-of-this-world

We spent a glorious week at Wavecrest last July, and had the only dry corner of the UK that week - sunshine every day. The cottage is perfectly placed for walks either direct from the door, or 30 mins drive away. Fantastic scenery, friendly locals, good home-cooked food and friendly service in the new community centre cafe, internet access and good food in the Columba Centre opposite. It's worth researching walks in the area on the Internet. It was everything we wanted. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, cosy and quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Having been a visitor to Skye on many occasions, it was lovely to go back. Just come back from a great week.... weather a bit variable, but that's Skye for you!

Wavecrest is excellent accommodation (with everything you need); nice and clean; thoughtful 'touches' eg 'Welcome Tray'and of course fantastic views.

My friends and I will definitely book again. Thanks Janice for our chat before the visit.

Linda.

Having just spent a week in the Cuillin we were feeling a bit down as we approached Staffin, but were immediately uplifted as we got into Wavecrest. The cottage had everything we needed and the location was superb.

The Trotternish ridge was easy to access and the Quirang practically on top of us. The fascinating North bit of sky was on the doorstep - don't miss Rubha Hunish.

Perhaps best of all is Staffin. Stroll down to the beach and along to the the jetty. Took us nearly all day, stopping every few yards to identify all manner of seabirds and walk in the footsteps of dinasaurs. Don't miss the village, even if you can't speak the Gaelic.

Third week in May and the weather was extremely un-Skyelike! Glorious sunshine practically all week! But even if it rained it would not have bothered us (which it didn't). The location is superb, the chalet perfect. And what a backdrop!

There is plenty to see and do on Skye and if wildlife is your bag, there are eagles and buzzards, meadow pipits at the door, shore and sea birds (including all the divers), brown hares and rabbits lolloping through the garden and if you're lucky, otters and whales (which we saw at Rubha Hunish). The natives are always popping round for a munch on the lawn! And hoodies up there don't hang around on street corners!

If you want the perfect holiday, then come to Skye. And Wavecrest is the perfect place to stay. Perfect for couples, like us, wanting peace and quiet and perfect for families. Everything you could need is provided.

PS> Cheapest fuel was in Broadford!
